Effect of polypropylene fibres on strength and durability performance of M-sand self compacting concrete

The durability of the self compacting concrete is one prominent areas concern in recent years since it has become prevalent due to its ease handling construction industries. However, there a lack detailed study M-sand with polypropylene fibres literature. In this paper, made by Portland pozzolana cement natural sand and M-sand, different percentages volume fraction (0%, 0.1%, 0.15% 0.2%) thoroughly investigated for fresh properties, hardened drying shrinkage, water absorption, permeability, acid resistance corrosion crack initiation time. Further, SEM analysis was carried out know effect fibre on microstructure. results confirmed that use improved fresh, properties compacted than sand. Also, observed addition reduced concrete. slightly strength concrete, compression 6.97%, split tensile 8.68% flexure 3%. shrinkage 40%, absorption 30%, penetration 33.33%, increased chemical resistance, surface period Finally, concludes improves reducing from aggressive environments turn contributes reinforcements embedded Thus, supports optimum amount achieve required sustainability terms durability.
